Over the years, Scott has dealt with a multitude of personal injury, wrongful death and wrongful employment termination cases in Illinois state courts and the United States federal district courts. These matters have involved the defense of elevator maintenance claims, motor vehicle collisions, including automobile and trucking claims, as well as the defense of premises liability, and railroad liability claims. He has also defended insurance coverage cases for various insurance companies. Many these matters have gone to verdict in jury trials.
Along with his involvement in the court system, Mr. Skaletsky has participated in numerous alternative dispute cases, both as a litigator and as an arbitrator, including in the American Arbitration Association and mandatory court-annexed arbitration forums as well as part of private arbitration agreements.
Mr. Skaletsky received his juris doctor in 1981 from the St. Louis University Law School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in History from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Skaletsky has presented seminars on legal issues to elevator maintenance meetings such as to the National Association of Elevator Contractors.
Mr. Skaletsky has been licensed to practice law since 1981 in the State of Illinois and since 1988 in the State of Arizona. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Arizona, is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois and the 7th Circuit Appellate Court of the United States, the trial bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and arbitration panel of the American Arbitration Association.
